Amidst Personal Struggles

Garcia's attorney, Darin Chavez, explained that the boxer has been facing an "extraordinarily challenging time" after receiving devastating news regarding his mother's health.

"Ryan Garcia has been vocal about his struggles with mental health, and right now he is under immense emotional stress," Chavez said. "The support and understanding from his fans and the public are vital as he works through these personal difficulties.

We are committed to ensuring Ryan receives the necessary resources to help him through this period."

Following Controversial Boxing Match

Ryan Garcia, with a record of 25 wins and 1 loss, gained significant attention in April by defeating the previously unbeaten WBC super lightweight champion, Devin Haney, in Brooklyn.

Despite being a major upset, the win was controversial because Ryan Garcia exceeded the 140-pound weight limit, preventing the WBC junior welterweight title from changing hands. Further complications arose as Ryan Garcia tested positive for a banned substance following the fight.

Ryan Garcia Arrested After Exhibiting Erratic Behavior

Leading up to and following the bout, Ryan Garcia exhibited erratic behavior and posted unusual content on social media. This concerning pattern persisted on Saturday.

Mere hours before his arrest, he posted on social media about individuals defending "pedos" (short for pedophiles) and expressed frustration over not receiving payment for the Haney fight.

In his final post at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, Ryan Garcia expressed disdain, stating that everyone is attempting to conceal their misdeeds. The following morning, he shared that he was currently at the hospital and requested prayers from his supporters.
