The document filed on Wednesday serves as Bryan Kohberger's official alibi, in which he asserts his whereabouts during the time of the Idaho College murders.
Kohberger claims that after moving to Pullman in June 2022, he frequently engaged in activities like running, hiking, and driving around the Palouse area, with a particular fondness for Wawawai Park.
Support from Phone Data
Kohberger maintains that his phone data will support his preference for late-night drives.
The document states that on the early morning of November 13, 2022, he was driving in the area south of Pullman, Washington, and west of Moscow, Idaho, including Wawawai Park, as he often did to hike, run, or stargaze.
Strengthening the Alibi
To strengthen his alibi, Kohberger plans to present testimony from a Cell Site Location Information (CSLI) expert to confirm his presence south of Pullman and west of Moscow at the time of the Idaho College murders.
He asserts that he did not travel east on the Moscow-Pullman Highway on that particular morning.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
Kohberger faces charges of first-degree Idaho College murder in connection with the deaths of Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen.
The victims were discovered stabbed in a residence near the University of Idaho campus on November 13, 2022.
Conclusion
Following his arrest, Kohberger was indicted by a grand jury and chose to remain silent during his arraignment.
