Son Seeks Autograph, Ball Allegedly Drives Away
According to McRae's account, young Joseph approached Ball, expressing his admiration and requesting an autograph.
However, Ball reportedly did not stop and drove away. Initially, McRae thought her son had simply bent down, but she soon discovered a more serious situation.

Due to missing information in the police report regarding Ball's insurance details, the family's lawyer, Cameron DeBrun, explained they were left with the court system as their only recourse.
"Because that information was not provided, we only have one recourse and that's the court system," DeBrun stated.
