The chase happened right after the House Oversight and Accountability Committee issued a subpoena for Cheatle to appear before them.
Cheatle has now said she will comply.
How Senators Confront USSS Director?
“This was an assassination attempt! You owe the people answers. You owe president Trump answers!” Tennessee Sen.
Marsha Blackburn shouted at Cheatle, who continued to walk with her head down and ignore the senators’ criticism.
Blackburn later shared a video of the incident on X, stating, "The American people deserve answers from the Secret Service."

DHS and Congress to Investigate Attempted Assassination of Trump
The Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General announced on Wednesday that it is investigating the circumstances surrounding Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Congressional Republicans have also vowed to conduct their own investigation into the incident.
Secret Service Takes Responsibility
In an interview with CNN on Tuesday evening, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle stated that the US Secret Service was “solely responsible” for the security at Saturday’s rally.
“At that particular site, we divided up areas of responsibility, but the Secret Service is totally responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of the site,” Cheatle explained.
This announcement comes amid heightened scrutiny and demands for accountability following the failed assassination attempt.
