Authorities Respond to Boat Crash at Alamitos Bay
The Long Beach Fire Department reported that they responded to an emergency call around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The call indicated that a 48-foot (15-meter) boat had crashed into the jetty at Alamitos Bay.

Speed Believed to be a Factor in California Boat Crash
Captain Jack Crabtree of the Long Beach Fire Department suggested that excessive speed was likely a contributing factor in the boat crash.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the boat was traveling at approximately 40 mph (64 kph) at the time of the collision, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Ten Injured in Boat Crash Transported to Hospitals
All ten individuals who were injured in the boat crash were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
