Hot97 has confirmed the passing of iconic New York City DJ Mister Cee on Wednesday.

"Hot97 was a platform where he greatly influenced and shaped the culture," stated Chuck Creekmur, the CEO of AllHipHop.com.

In a 2023 interview with CBS New York, as the city marked hip-hop's 50th anniversary, Mister Cee shared his insights on the evolution of the music and cultural scene.

"In those days, we were reliant on cassette tapes that circulated throughout the city, serving as our version of email," Mister Cee reminisced during the interview.

His journey in DJing began in his Brooklyn home, a place he always held dear to his heart.

Dubbed 'the Finisher,' Mister Cee earned his moniker for his skill in concluding sets and parties, as Creekmur recalled.
