In October 2021, MrBeast, alongside fellow YouTuber Mark Rober, launched the TeamSeas project with the ambitious goal of raising $30 million to tackle ocean pollution.
By January 2022, the campaign hit its fundraising target, marking the beginning of MrBeast's Ocean Cleanup operation.

The YouTube video documenting this journey offers an in-depth look at the extensive efforts involved in MrBeast's Ocean Cleanup of some of the dirtiest beaches in the world. Starting with a single water bottle, the video highlights the arduous process of removing millions of pieces of trash.
"This is one of the dirtiest beaches in the entire world, and we're gonna pick up every single piece of trash," MrBeast states as he kicks off the cleanup.
Volunteers, including professional beach cleaner Oscar, demonstrated various methods to efficiently remove trash. "Mainly, we do the big stuff first and then bring a lot of people with sifters for the small stuff," Oscar explained.
Despite the seemingly endless task, with teamwork and determination, they filled bag after bag of trash, working tirelessly over multiple days.
Overcoming Challenges
The challenges faced during the cleanup, from finding unusual items like car bumpers to dealing with continuous waves of new trash washing ashore. Yet, the dedicated team managed to clear significant amounts of debris from multiple beaches.

"After 12 hours of cleanup, this is what we managed to achieve, which isn't enough," MrBeast remarked. The team then brought in more volunteers, increasing their efficiency and impact.
A Community Effort
The massive cleanup efforts were bolstered by the community's support. "Thank you for coming to our country and helping us with this initiative. That is really awesome," a local expressed in the video, highlighting the global impact of MrBeast's Ocean Cleanup project.
