Background on Sean Kingston
The Jamaican-American rapper, best known for his chart-topping hits like "Beautiful Girls" (2007), "Eenie Meenie" with Justin Bieber, and "Take You There," faced life-threatening injuries in a jet ski accident back in 2011.
Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, hasn't released a major label album in over a decade.
Lawsuit Against Sean Kingston Sheds Light on Possible Motive
An attorney present during the arrest revealed that the situation is partially linked to a lawsuit he filed against Kingston in February. The lawsuit accuses Kingston of defrauding a Florida company that installed a massive television, measuring a staggering 232 inches (almost 19 feet wide).
The attorney, Dennis Card, expressed frustration over the situation, stating, "It is amazing what you can get away with if you are a celebrity."
Card further elaborated on the alleged scheme, claiming that Kingston created a persona of wealth and used his connection with Justin Bieber to potentially secure a reduced price for the television.
Justin Bieber Not Involved, Says Representative
Card, who also represents Bieber, clarified that Bieber is not involved in the situation and that Kingston often drops his name without justification.
Efforts to reach Kingston's publicists for comment were unsuccessful.
