Wally Dallenbach, a versatile race driver renowned for his prowess in IndyCar and the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, has passed away, confirmed by the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Association on Monday, April 29th. Over a span of 15 years, Dallenbach participated in 181 IndyCar races, securing five victories.
In 1973, he clinched second place in the United States Auto Club Champ Car standings. Dallenbach debuted in IndyCar racing in 1965, with his first appearance at the Indianapolis 500 occurring in 1967. Throughout his career, he competed in 13 Indianapolis 500 races, achieving his highest finishes of fourth place in 1976 and 1977.
