Al Pacino Clarifies Oscars Confusion

Pacino's Statement
At last night's Oscars, Al Pacino sparked confusion by announcing the winner of Best Picture, Oppenheimer, without first listing the nominees. However, the 83-year-old actor, renowned for his role in The Godfather, clarified in a statement that he was not instructed to do so.

"I've noticed there's been some controversy surrounding my omission of mentioning every film by name last night before announcing the best picture award," Pacino stated. "I want to make it clear that it wasn't my intention to leave them out, but rather a decision made by the producers not to repeat them since they were already highlighted individually throughout the ceremony."

Producers' Explanation
Pacino's explanation received support from Oscars producers, who revealed the creative choice behind the decision. Producer Molly McNearney explained, "We made a creative choice because we were concerned about the show running long... People just wanted to know who won, and they were pretty ready for the show to wrap up."

Kimmel's Commentary
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel chimed in, humorously remarking, "Seems like he's never tuned into an awards show before... Pretty much everyone in America knows the rhythm of how it's supposed to go... But not Al Pacino! Bless his heart."

Unexpected Response from Kimmel

Trump's Criticism
In a surprising turn of events, the 2024 Oscars concluded ahead of schedule, allowing Kimmel to respond to criticism from former President Donald Trump regarding his hosting skills on social media. Trump's tweet condemned Kimmel's performance, prompting a tongue-in-cheek response from the host.

Donald Trump Tweet

Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a
less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid
of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC "talent," George
Slopanopoulos.

He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous.
Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years - Disjointed, boring, and very unfair.
Why don't they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience
and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

"Blah, blah, blah..."
Kimmel's retort to Trump's criticism showcased the unpredictability of live television, ending the night on a lighthearted note despite the earlier confusion surrounding Pacino's announcement.
