1 Killed, 5 Injured by Shooter In Perry High School In Iowa

Authorities were notified about the incident at 7:35 a.m. Thursday local time and authorities arrived in 10 minutes. Classes were scheduled to start at 7:55 a.m. After the winter break, it was the first day of school.

Police said that a student in sixth grade was killed, and three other students and administrator of Perry High School, five were injured in the shooting. None of the victim's names have been shared.

Statement Of Community Leaders After Shooting

On Shooting, Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, asked for prayers for the safety and recovery of those involved. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, condemned the violence.
